Requirements prior to installation

Design and Content Prerequisites

For Discovery you will need:

  1. Ship name and Logo of your yacht (request a quote for creating one from scratch). Formats: .png .eps
  2. GA Files (PDF) so we can create 3D models in a format that the graphical cards of your equipment can render
  3. High res 3d model (if available)
  4. Exterior images (either recent photos or renderings (photos are usually not available for New Builds, but renderings are)) and colors codes exterior

For the Experience package you will need as well :

  • List of featured matters you wish to highlight on the yacht and media related to it. A selection of maximum 25 highlights of the yacht. For each item you should deliver:
    • short description text (approx 250 characters, if more scroll bar will show up),
    • photo(s),
    • and/or short videos,
    • location on the yacht per item.
    • To make sure this section tells the story you wish it to tell we recommend you involve other stakeholders to define on time what angle is interesting for the owner's guests and or charter guests. This module enables you to add many yacht anecdotes but those can be technical highlights, design highlights, decorations highlights etc.
  • 3 escape routes
  • Location of safety items: lifebuoys, emergency exits, fire extinguishers.

In order to make the most out of the YachtEye framework, you want to make sure the next content is created. (Oculus as an agency can help in the content creation, please request a separate quote).

Content to be uploaded by customer (unless the customer has requested a quote for the creation and or upload of those to Oculus)

  • Crew cv' and any media related to it
  • Itinerary materials and media related to it
  • Welcome materials to include in the welcome module
  • Calendar events and media related to it
  • Websites to link to
  • Safety materials and media related to it

Organizational Prerequisites

In order to make the most out of the YachtEye framework, you want to make sure the next stakeholders are involved in the process.

Owners Representative to choose how the framework will be used, especially the Featured and the Explore module can be designed to highlight different parts of what makes a yacht special: gadgets, equipment, layout, art, anecdotes of the build/refit, unique elements that differentiate it from other yachts, etc.

Exterior and Interior Designer in case you wish to change colors to fit it more to the interior, and/or in case they will be involved to define the featured sections of the yacht and what anecdotes are worth mentioning and defining (special pool never done before, unusual shapes, unusual decoration elements etc.).

Project Manager during the build to coordinate pre-requisites and general integration in the timeline.

ETO to hand over technical matters and LUST contract.

Crew Lead to help during refit or new build with the relevant content creation for safety, itinerary, welcome package, crew profiles etc.

Technical Prerequisites

Our products rely on power, data and the onboard AV system.

On this page, you will find general information about the minimal requirements of a standard system. Many of our clients like to include additional functionality for which more in-depth information can be found in our Prerequisites Document that can be sent to you by our sales department.

Deployment Recommendations

  • A System Integrator should quote for the prerequisites to be properly implemented.
  • A System Integrator should define how the control API could be used to manage YachtEye on TV’s from a Crestron interface or similar. On request we can create custom experiences as a change request.
  • To get the most out of the Explore module it is recommended to have interviews with interior designer, AV/IT lead, shipyard project manager and/or owner reps to decide what the owner wishes are to feature in this module: art collection, yacht peculiarities, technical innovations, etc.
  • Highlights module is delivered with 90 highlights, as a change request we can add further highlights from API or from concierge services.
  • ETO should be trained on the technical side of the proper maintenance.
  • Several crew members should be trained to get the most out of the framework, since several modules require the crew to update this.
  • Before final delivery it is recommended that someone from the crew is involved to create the content for the following modules: welcome on board, safety screens and crew profiles. Oculus Technologies as an agency can help to make the visuals if required.
