The resolution / size on my television is incorrect or the entire screen constantly seems blurry or incomplete

Problem

This problem only occurs nowadays with old televisions (> 5 years old) or odd-shaped displays.
Looking at a television or monitor it appears as if part of the edges of the information channel are missing.

Solution

There are two main reasons for this condition to occur:

  • Wrong resolution used
  • Incorrect underscan or overscan settings

Our information channel and touchscreen products require a Full HD or Ultra HD (4K) resolution (i.e. 1920x1080 or 3840x2160).

Before you continue with steps described under A and B, please verify:

  • The TV set(s) are Full HD or Ultra HD; i.e. they have a panel with 1920x1080 (or 3840x2160) physical pixels and support this resolution
  • The video distribution (when applicable) is capable and wired for Full HD or Ultra HD video distribution
  • There is control over underscan and overscan settings on TV's or distribution
  • The TVs or distribution report the correct EDID data to video source or one can change the EDID manually

A.) When top, leftmost, rightmost and bottom part of the user interface seem to have been cut of, correct underscan/overscan settings:

  1. Remove any underscan or overscan correction from the video inputs on TV or distribution system
  2. Set all TVs to "dot-by-dot", 'full', 'direct' or similar for the respective input
  3. Remove any scaling or resizing that may have been set in the "NVIDIA Control Panel"

B.) When rightmost and bottom part of the user interface seem to be either cut off or unused, correct the resolution:

  1. Make sure the video input of the TVs or distribution are properly set up and forced to 1920x1080 (or 3840x2160) input resolution
  2. Set the video output resolution to 1920x1080 (or 3840x2160) and check if this is maintained after a system reboot
  3. Reset or force the EDID information that is sent to our system upon connection of a video cable to 1920x1080 (or 3840x2160)
