Reduce bandwidth usage: Change the 3D Position views

The default 3D Position module has five views: World, Continent, City, Harbour and Circle. You can enable or disable the views, and change the properties of the views (not available in all license packages).

That can useful if you e.g. dislike the amount of zoom-movements on your screen, or if you want to reduce the bandwidth usage while sailing.

Instructions

  1. Login into the YachtEye Management Portal,

  2. Tap on the “3D Position“ tab,

  3. Tap the eye-icon next to each view to enable or disable it,

  4. Tap on a view to modify the properties of the view: duration, distance, etc.. And tap Save.

 

In the near future we plan to have a feature to automatically reduce the zooming while sailing.

Meanwhile, to reduce bandwidth usage, we suggest to have only the World and Continent views enabled when the yacht is on passage.
