How to create different YachtEye Templates

Each unit displaying YachtEye (e.g. TV channel, touch table, or iPad) can select a specific Template. A Template allows you to e.g. define the modules that are available, or the display of the menu on the left.

Most units come preconfigured with templates for “TV“ and “iPad“. These templates are targeted for the TV channel and the iPad. The “TV“ template for example, does not show the menu on the left since a TV is not an interactive device.

To select the Template to be used for the unit, go to the Settings in YachtEye (at the left bottom side of YachtEye), and select the Template from the drop-down list.

In case the preconfigured templates are not available, or if you want to define a new one, follow the instructions below.

Instructions to add a Template

  1. Open your content management system and go to the System tab.

  2. Tap on “Add YachtEye template“ in the menu on the left.

  3. A new template is created (“YachtEye Template-X“), tap on it and give it a proper name.

  4. Modify the template settings as desired, and tap “Save“.

  5. Select the new template on the device(s) that should use it.

In case you want to block users from changing the template on their device, go to the System tab and change the “Allow Template switch by client“ setting.

For iPad templates, make sure the navigation column is checked. You can select the modules to display on the iPad, and change the inactivity timer. We recommend to change this to 300 seconds for iPad.
