How to connect your iPad to YachtEye

To browse to YachtEye anywhere onboard, you can use our YachtEye WebApp on your iPad.
The minimal requirement is a normal generation 3+ iPad. For optimal performance, we recommend using the iPad Pro. YachtEye does not run on an iPad mini.
To install YachtEye on your iPad, please follow the following steps.
NB. Each iPad needs to be installed manually.

Instructions

  1. Check the IP address of the YachtEye server

  2. Open the browser by tapping on the Safari icon, typically located on your home screen. The main browser window should now be visible.

  3. Navigate to the YachtEye server IP address and add the port :3080 to the URL address by typing: http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:3080 (The X represents the IP address)

  4. When YachtEye is loaded, tap on the Share button at the top of the browser window. It is represented by a square with an up arrow in the foreground.

  5. The iOS Share Sheet will now appear, overlaying the main browser window. Select the option labeled “Add to Home Screen“.

  6. The "Add to Home" interface should now be visible. Edit the name of the shortcut icon you are creating. Once you are done, tap the “Add button“.

  7. You will be taken back to your iPad's home screen, which now contains a new icon mapped to YachtEye.

  8. You can start YachtEye by tapping on the button on the Home screen of your iPad.

We advise to always open YachtEye via this Home screen button to optimize the scaling of
the interface.

In case of loading problems (of e.g. a new YachtEye version) we recommend to clear the browser cache: go to Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data, and tap Clear. Note that this will clear all history and website data of the iPad.
